Exercise Programs for Cancer Patients

The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) in collaboration with the American Cancer Society (ACS) has developed a special exercise protocol for those who have been cleared by their physician for independent exercise and physical activity. Our trainers can design and administer fitness assessments and exercise programs specific to one’s cancer diagnosis, treatment, and current recovery status. Adaptations for exercise is based on specific cancers, side effects of and treatment, like strength-building routines for patients who have lost muscle mass and shoulder-stabilizing exercises in breast cancer patients for survivors who have had operations that debilitate the joints in their shoulders. Easing in to exercise is key, so our trainers will be sure that you begin and progress appropriately. TeamMates Fitness offers a friendly, private atmosphere to work out in.
